Dana A. Childers specializes in labor and employment law. Prior to joining NEWHOUSE | SEROUSSI, Dana worked for local Los Angeles law firm Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp, LLC, representing clients in a broad range of employment matters. Her prior work includes preparing employment policies and employee handbooks, negotiating and preparing employment and severance agreements, training managers, supervisors and staff employees in discrimination and harassment issues, and defending employers in discrimination, wrongful termination, harassment, retaliation, and wage and hour issues. She also provides advice and counsel on day-to-day employment issues.
In addition, Dana is a professional and personal coach who advises small businesses and individual clients looking to expand their leadership and growth. She brings this expertise to her legal work, as well as the perspective that working toward healthy employer/employee relationships is the best, most preventative practice for any employer.
Dana earned her Bachelor of Arts with Honors and Distinction in 1991 from Connecticut College and her Juris Doctor Degree in 1997 from the University of Southern California Law School, where she served as an editor for the Southern California Law Review. She earned her CPCC coaching credentials from The Coaches Training Institute.
Dana is licensed to practice before all California state courts, all United States District Courts in California and the United States Supreme Court. Dana lives in Pacific Palisades with her husband, John, and their three children, Jackson, Lucas and Cate. She spends her free time writing, paddle boarding, hiking, traveling, playing games with her kids, and reading as many books as she can get her hands on.
